LWVGE hosted a community meeting on 11/20 entitled Combatting Poverty in DuPage County: A Panel Discussion

LWVGE hosted a well attended and informative community meeting on November 20 entitled Combatting Poverty in DuPage County: A Panel Discussion. In addition, attendees were encouraged to bring an item to donate to the local non-profits who are working diligently to meet the needs of people in our community.

Now more than ever, many local individuals and families are facing the threat of being unhoused or going hungry or being without basic healthcare. Our panelists for the evening were: Laura Glaza, Executive Director of the Glen House Food Pantry; Kara Murphy, President of the DuPage Health Coalition; and Amy Van Polen, CEO for Bridge Communities.

If you wish to know more about the evening’s discussion, please use this link to an article written by Cathy Janek, Shaw Publications on 11/24/25.
