Heather Cherone

Senior Political Reporter, WTTW News

Heather Cherone is a senior reporter for WTTW News covering Chicago and Illinois politics from City Hall. A longtime political journalist, she previously covered City Hall for DNAinfo Chicago and The Daily Line and reported on politics in Los Angeles and Oakland, California. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and has served as a Pritzker Fellow at the University of Chicago's Institute of Politics. Cherone is a frequent speaker and moderator on Chicago politics, elections, journalism and democracy.

Steven D. Schwinn, J.D.

Professor of Law, University of Illinois Chicago

Steven D. Schwinn is a Professor of Law at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he teaches constitutional law, First Amendment, comparative constitutional law, human rights and civil rights. His scholarship and public commentary focus on constitutional law, voting rights, election law and the balance of governmental powers. He is a frequent media commentator and regularly speaks with civic organizations about constitutional and public policy issues. Professor Schwinn earned his J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and his B.A. from Michigan State University.
