DuPage Transportation Panel: How Do You Get There Without a Car?

  • Main St Rec Center 501 Hill Avenue Glen Ellyn, IL, 60137 United States (map)

Note 6PM start!

Access to transportation is a key tenet of the League position on meeting basic human needs. DuPage County is car-centric, so if you don’t have a car, how do you go to work, shop, etc?

This panel brings together regional leaders to examine the barriers facing those who are carless – seniors, people with disabilities, and residents seeking affordable or sustainable ways to get around DuPage County. The roundtable will feature Mary Ozog, County Board Member and Chair of the Transportation Committee, Christine Rose from PACE bus system, Dave Simmons from Ride Illinois, Rita McDonough from DuPage Senior Citizens Council and Lauren Milligan, Employment Specialist PADS. We will hear testimonials from a PADS client on issues they have getting safe and reliable transportation.

There will be mini expo with sustainable, active transportation and local bicycle-focused organizations with representatives on hand to meet with attendees. Confirmed are Go Green Glen Ellyn, Friends of EBDRT, Bike GE, IL Prairie Path, and Retro Glow Cycles.

IF YOU ATTEND THIS EVENT AND DON’T USE A CAR TO GET THERE (ie walk, bike, etc), YOU WILL BE ENTERED TO WIN A RAFFLE GIFT!

If you can, please donate a transport gift card (Uber, Ventra card, Gas card) for PADS clients.

Please note this is scheduled for 6pm to allow those who walk or bike to do so in the daylight.

Walk or Ride Your Bike to be entered in a raffle!
